Windmill Fabrication
For decades, the wind tower industry has benefitted from metalizing various components on their structures. Atmospheric corrosion causes damage to tower structures and is one reason many manufacturers specify thermal sprayed zinc or zinc/aluminium alloys as a method of corrosion protection. The arc spray process gives a resilient thermal sprayed finish, which is less susceptible to damage than many paint coatings.
Thermal sprayed coatings, typically of Zinc or Zinc/Aluminum (85/15), are used on components and flange sections of windmill / wind turbine towers for corrosion control. Conventional paint coatings are applied over some areas of the thermal sprayed coatings.
